Govt calls for vehicle owners to pay tax, avoid fines
Even though more revenue has been generated from road tax, only 30 percent of vehicle owners have come forward to pay their obligations to the national budget, according to the Ministry of Finance. The shortfall has forced the government to carry out an information campaign in various parts of the country and strengthening cooperation among government sectors. The move aims to ensure car owners understand their obligations and the consequences if they try to get around paying the taxes.
